At Oasis Academy Fairfield the children’s learning will be based around the new National Curriculum in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework in Reception.
There will be a strong focus on Literacy and Maths ensuring that all children are confident readers, writers and mathematicians by the age of six. Fundamental to this will be the creative curriculum which will be designed to actively engage and excite all children, developing a love of learning and providing them with the key skills to succeed in life. Pupils will develop a range of basic skills through the stimulus of a broad and balanced curriculum that introduces new ideas and experiences to all in a calm, friendly, stable and structured environment. They will receive an education that uses real experiences and multi-sensory approaches as a foundation for learning, whilst developing a respect and consideration for theirs and others’ individuality, particular backgrounds, cultures and religions. They will learn in a culture where achievement is recognised and all pupils are given high expectations for their future.
Alongside the curriculum will be a proactively planned enrichment programme to ensure that when the children leave the Academy at the age of eleven, they will have experienced a diverse, rich and wide range of activities, including art, drama, dance, sports, technology and media. This will not only prepare them for life beyond school but enable them to find their passions in life and unlock their hidden potential to provide them with the springboard for the next stage of their educational journey.
The curriculum will also explore international links through the extended Oasis family of Academies, partnering the Academy with others across the globe.
